Anterior chest pain of scarring origin
We will first recall the notion of cicatricial neuropathy.
Causes of anterior chest pain of scarring origin are (non-exhaustive):
- Cardiac or mediastinal surgery by sternotomy
- Pulmonary surgery
- Dorsal spine surgery by:
- Lateral approach (the pain is the same as during open lung surgery)
- Posterior approach
- Breast surgery
- Thoracic aortic surgery
- ORL cancer surgery with or without reconstruction
- Implantable Port Placement or Removal (SIEV)
- Placement of a central venous line via the subclavian vein
- Locoregional anesthesia by infraclavicular approach
- Shoulder, collarbone, thoraco-brachial outlet surgery
- Infiltration under acromial, acromioclavicular joint, glenohumeral joint
- Rib fracture and chest trauma
- Wound, hematoma and burn of the chest
- Pain after contraceptive implant removal
