Diffuse Cicatricial Hyperesthesia Syndrome (CDHS) MEDECIN

This new clinical entity is found in a few patients with chronic pain.

Définition

Cicatricial neuropathy affecting all of the scars found in a patient.

Its current incidence is not known.

There is probably an underlying factor in the scarring that is abnormal. Some families show these characteristics from generation to generation (personal experience). We can therefore consider an underlying genetic factor.

This pathology is sometimes associated with a diffuse chronic pain syndrome most of the time diagnosed as fibromyalgia. It should be noted that these patients are often operated on multiple times, sometimes wrongly, for poorly explained pain and that the repetition of operations worsens the painful state of the patients.
